The Spire was simply part of the so-called core. There was no actual 'CORE.' A lot of confusion could be avoided if we referred to the "inner columns" vs the "perimeter columns." The concrete 'core' did not support the building, but rather the elevators, stairs and serviceways.
You can see @ 1:02 that the growing debris pile was putting lateral force on the columns representing The Spire. These columns couldn't handle lateral forces without floor trusses connecting them to the perimeter.

You people need to read Bazant (2008) What Did and What Did Not Cause the World Trade Center Towers to Collapse. It's ACTUAL science. Not herpa derpa controlled demolition adurrrrrr. The spire being the last thing to collapse actually PROVES IT WASNT a CD, and the mechanics of collapse are as Bazant says.

Interesting video, putting a nice perspective on the twin towers' demolition. Obviously, the puff of powder being shown is one of those demolition "squibs." And the last columns are cut a little late.
How could Richard Clarke laugh that 9/11 was not a U.S. government job because its execution would have been flawed?

it doesn't fall apart, it turns into dust. It doesn't crumble or anything. No chunks falling, just dust. Not too sure what can make that happen except a nuclear blast. Weird.
