I was there when she gave this speech. She has entirely forgotten the quality of the academic content at UC Davis, in favor of economic growth and growing the student body with international and out of state students. This is failing California.

Let's see, if you fire some of the cops who get paid $110k to spray pepper spray, you might be able to support more poor students.
You won't be able to control your destiny as a university while Sacramento and Washington are dedicated to austerity measures that target the middle class.
