What does China has to do with Sudan? Well, the Chinese are engaged in competition with Western oil giants in opening up new fields --that's not permissible.
The Chinese, we are told, have a moral responsibility to either pressure the Sudanese to let up on Darfur, or else abandon their Sudanese assets.
Presumably Western interests will fill the vacuum -- that alone tells us everything about what's behind the "Save Darfur" bloviators and their high-horse moralizing.

1. There was no genocide in Dafur. "Genocide in Dafur" first appeared in US media and was apparently concocted by US media as well. The UN has sent deligate to Sudan to find out if there was genocide. The conclusion was squarely clear: There was only humanitarian crisis, no genocide whatsoever. Even humanitarian crisis to speak of, it is much less in scale than Iraq which was directly caused by US invasion. There are several millions of refegees in Iraq, how many US has.
