Jon Weber PASIC SOLO - Now a percussion teacher at Michigan State, OSU Alumni. I was a sophomore (14-15)in attendance at this performance and I remember after he was done we all we saying "Weber is thy name!" LOL! Jon has probably the fastest singles I have every seen. The best part of this performance is when he starts throwing out some serious singles in the end and just shifts his weight and looks at his hands as if he is bored... LOL! Jon you ROCK!
Jon Weber is visiting instructor of percussion at the Michigan State University School of Music. He received a bachelor of music education from Oklahoma State University, and a master of music from Michigan State University. Mr. Weber has been the composer and teacher for the Michigan State Drumline since 1996. Mr. Weber has performed with the New York Solsti Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, Brass Band of Battle Creek, and the Santa Clara Vanguard. Mr. Weber is currently playing percussion with the world fusion group Thom Jayne and the Nomads.

Mr. Weber is composer for the Detroit Pistons Drumline and performs with them at the Palace. He has taught at Oklahoma State University and been served as percussion coordinator for the award-winning Spartan Percussion competition line at the PAS international convention, and the Black Gold and Northern Aurora drum and bugle corps. He is a Vic Firth education clinician, and endorses Yamaha percussion and Sabian Cymbals.

  • I was at this performance too, he marched Union High School Drumline, from Tulsa, OK, right? We couldn't help yelling, even though they told us to hold your applause until the end of the performance. Does anyone have any of the other performances from that day?

  • I have the matt savage solo from that day up here somewhere. . .

  • Awesome! I went to high school with Jon.... he was a senior my freshman year. I definitely wanted to be like Jon when I grew up... I never got that good, but he was a huge influence on me.

  • Same here. . .

  • What corps did this guy march? His hands make me think SCV, but that's just a guess...

  • 3:03 HOLY CRAP I think I just died a little bit on the inside.

  • This is Wayne B. ---- who is this? :-)

  • I still have the video from the entire day - which school were you with?

  • Jon was my snare instructor at Northern Aurora Drum and Bugle Corps (Saginaw, MI) in 1996. Sometimes after practice, he would show his singles speed drill. If there is a guy out there that can play more beats per minute than Weber, I have yet to me him. The guy is ridiculous. He makes me want to throw my sticks away!

  • Play with some balls!!!!

  • a man of magic, this is the first time ive seen him play but i have seen his work through the michigan state drumline many times. he is amazing!!!!!!

  • omfg
