Here's a great rare clip from the "Beat of the Brass" Special from 1968. Herb and co. are in New Orleans celebrating Mardi Gras. Things sure have changed, indeed! Enjoy!
P.S. I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to see Herb and Lani play at Blues Alley in Georgetown Washington DC 12 May 2008. The show was absolutely spectacular. After all these years, they both still have it: the skills and the love. Truly a remarkable show. Herb and Lani, thanks to all of the wonderful years of warming our hearts with your great art work. You both are truly blessed as well as I was at your show.
Thanks thegoochman...My home town. It's fun to recognize Herb's float passing under the US Hwy 90 bridge nearing Lee Circle then the champagne toast in front of Gallier Hall. May New Orleans rebuuild to a better town! At 4:06 there is Kolb's German restaurant where big leather belts turned ceiling fans but German figures "turned" the cranks fot the fans. What a great old place.

I was there that Mardi Gras day 1968 on a balcony on St. Charles Avenue near Canal Street and saw Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass perform during the Krewe of Rex parade. The footage was later included in their special in April 1968 called The Beat of the Brass.
