The meter in mine is an Cygnus LTI300 (MR300). It fits in the small gap on the roof console. Relativily easy to wire up but if you get an old one, chances are you need to get it unlocked. A taximeter dealer should be able to do that for you. There are only 4 connections, 2 for the power, one for the taxi lamps and one for the speed pulses.
If you like, I could email you a copy of the owners handbook for the Fairway Driver cab.

An old licence plate can be got from LVTA.co.uk. I haven't changed the gearbox oil yet but I understand that it is easy to do but it must be Dexron III type fluid. Halfords sell it. It took me ages to find the gearbox dipstick. The oil level has to be checked with the engine running and gearbox oil warm.

@Richbowker No, it's just my regular car. I've managed to get a meter so the light goes on and off and a front tip seat for it. It's got an old licence plate on the back too. Cool cars to drive...

@garypaulsmith cool, is your fairway just for fun or is it a taxi?
Slow, noisy, uncomfortable, dated, rusty and rattly, expensive to buy and run, unreliable buckets!
