@LedWilde I wasn't living in the 80s but from what I've read, there was an economic slump, deregulation and the popularity of crack

alice is chains in not grunge alice in chains is not metal. alice is chains is simply too good to be classified in one category
-
@SoalaJohn54 Well, lol I didn't think the 80's were that depressing. Other than some of the bad music. Hit or miss decade with that. Was only a kid. I turned 10 in '89 so don't know.
-
@LedWilde True, the depressive nature of the grunge genre was fulled by the depression of the 80s.
-
@LedWilde i also grew up in the 90s...i remember gas being under $1 at one point in time. I loved Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, and Presidents of the USA!
-
@JeanDoe80 True for some. Except my parents loved the 90's too. They genuinely loved a lot of the music, TV, and other stuff. They were in their 40's back then. My mom says it was a better decade than the 70's in a lot of ways, my dad says it was a better decade than the 80's. My dad complains that Rap became big in the 90's though.

@LedWilde 90's were only fun for kids like you and me for grown ups back then......well that's a different story. When you're a kid it's always good times no matter what decade.
-
@LedWilde Amen man.......Amen.

@rsohlich1 Yes

@LedWilde yea, I have a hard time finding people who DON'T smoke anymore. Its seriously humorous that its illegal. I agree, it should stay tax free if legalized. Anyways, take care
I was a teen in the 90's. 90's were fun times! Internet was barely invented and no Xbox so people got out more. The economy was great! No major wars. Gas and other products were cheap! Pot and LSD use was higher in the 90's and 00's, lol. TV had no "reality" shows. MTV still played videos. No Paris Hilton either! If anything it got depressing after the 90's. So people who think "90's glorified depression" are far away from the truth.
