Well, it was the 1970s. Alot of airlines had some questionable taste. Then again we are talking about the decade that gave us shag carpeting and yellow and green colored appliances.

Your ignorance is disgusting! Capiche.....
-
Pan Am's interior decor was disgusting!
-
That black guy guy has a Muslim style hat on his head, strip search him!!

@MyleneJ. "they still provide a comfortable and relaxing flight at a sustainable price". Ofcourse they do!! A stale sandwich with peanuts , lost bags that they charged an extra 50 bucks !!
-
@MyleneJ. Singapore Airlines is a flag carrier NOT luxury as you state!! Prices on international routes both carriers compete are nearly the same!! I've been in the airline business for nearly 2 decades and will tell you UA is NOT a world class airline.! Rather, it's a airline that operates on short term profits for it's shareholders at the passengers expense!! Untied(dot)com. Enlighten yourself 26 years in the business!!!!

@sanitman1 I said -Americas- premier airline. Singapore and Similar airlines are Luxury airlines, they exist not for the purpose of Air travel itself and more for the purpose of shoving all the luxury you can into an aluminum can, the ticket price reflects this too. I've been in this Industry for 26 years, and can tell you UA is a world class airline, even if they don't cram the same level of flash into their jets, They still provide a comfortable and relaxing flight at a Sustainable Price.

MyleneJ "Indeed,United,Was is and will continue to be Americas premier Airline."
Longbeachliner "United #1"
God help us, the USA if you honestly believe this ignorant nonsense... I suggest to these 2 individuals, fly Singapore Airlines and see what a Premier airline is because it's not the bus drivers at United!!! Yes Peterfans I've seen
Dave Carols video/song "united breaks guitar's and advise anyone whom flies view it because it shows the reality of United Airlines ,a crop duster..!!
-
@culturecritique So agreed.. I see people getting on planes wearing clothes a high, drunken, hobo wouldn't wear.
-
@Longbeachliner If you want to be That specific about it. Pan Am Sold off its entire Pacific Division which was 25% of Pan Am's total route structure, its 747s, and many Employees (Including MANY of the so Called McDonald Flight Attendants) to United in order to try and save Pan Am which was already a dieing company at this point. Then in 1990, Pan Am sold its Heathrow routes, to United. Pan Am's last remaining hub, Miami was split between United Airlines and American Airlines. You do the math.
When people had class and dressed up to fly on an airline. Now they all look like they belong in a circus.
