WOW!
-
this routine was so short and i never really understood how it achieved all its value compared to a lot of the other routines during its time
-
That's an amazing bars routine!!

The deductions here are bent kness on the takeoff of the reverse hecht, and a pretty large hop back on the landing of the dismount.

@LMA629 no, 105 is her competitor's #, you can see it pinned to the back of her leotard

@gymnastgally18 I'm talking about today. The last perfect 10 in the olympic games was awarded in 1992. I'm talking 2008.

i actually really like the new scoring system (in theory). Gymnasts can still aim to get a perfect ten for execution and are rewarded for the difficulty of skills and combinations. while i think that deductions should be greater (to stop high difficulty and low execution for being rewarded), i very much prefer this to the old system. its less subjective and promotes a higher level of skill.

@itsbeccaforreals A-MEN! i share your opinion exactly, and I would add that the lowered subjectivity and higher demands for difficulty and combinations makes it a much more-- well, *sporty*, sport nowadays! less about grace, more about power, which in my mind is the difference between an olympic sport and a dance performance.
