@TigerLikesTail i agree they are not all indies, but the point is that their nationality is not American. They originated in new mexico. not america. and they are mostly known as an indies band, not because the media wants to make people fall into line, but because the media creates these categories to organize music for those people that want a name for a group of songs that sounds alike.

@ImxInstraxMental Don't put groups into categories. Indie, Goth, Emo, all media created genres to sell records & make people fall into line. The Shins are not just indie. They are a good band with influences from all over. The Super Furry Animals are similar & write music that covers many styles. Search Youtube for these songs by them. Presidential Suite, Inaugural Trams, Hello Sunshine, Cardiff In The Sun, It's Not The End Of The World, Drawing Rings Around The World.

Yes I am sure. When I did talk to him briefly once, he said, "Hi, my name is James. Can I plant a wysteria on the phone poll on your part of the side yard?" So I assume his full name is James Mercer, and probably not Kevin Spacey, plus he appears to be much younger than Kevin Spacey would be.

The lead singer of this band moved in next door to me in Portland about 6 months ago, and I haven't said one word to the guy. He seems nice, he has a wife and kid and stuff, and he seems down to earth, but I just don't want to bother the guy. He makes pretty cool music though, I would like to pick his brain about the ideas in this videos though, they are pretty unique.
