The amazing feats of the great escape artist and lock picker, Mr. Bombo Dump, appearing on "You Wanted It," hosted by the inimitable Sid Slick. Can we have a fanfare, please? (Circa 1964-65; WNEW-TV; unsubstantiated rumor has it that Daniel Day-Lewis based his "Bill The Butcher" character in Scorsese's "Gangs of New York" on McCann's unforgettable Bombo.

Sandysoup, these are great ! I was wondering if you have any of when Chuck used to do the " Little Orphan Annie" skit they were hysterical!
Thanks for sharing. He is a very funny man.
As a kid I loved his show.

This is really awesome, especially considering the fact that where I grew up (in Upstate N.Y.), we only had one out of the three (Soupy Sales). Chuck McCann really deserves his comparison to Oliver Hardy.

God I love this clip. How much of this was ad-libed? It just seems like Sid Slick is really surprised by the cape going back into the closet, the chair falling down, the rope trick? Based on the crews laughter, they seem to be in on the joke.

Those were the days. Thanks for this clip. I remember watching this when I was 10. Great kids shows back then. Not like the crap they are feeding our kids today.

I remember this episode! Chuck was great! Show more! He along with Sandy Becker, and Soupy Sales kept us kids glued to the TV with their wacky stunts. A far cry from the crap they are serving up to today's kids.
