2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Toyota was the first automaker to put a hybrid powertrain into a midsize crossover SUV when it introduced the Highlander Hybrid for the 2006 model year. Now in its second-generation, the Highlander Hybrid is still a one-of-a-kind combination of utility and fuel economy.

The Toyota Highlander Hybrid benefits from the strengths of the base model. Among those features are seating for seven, useful cargo space, and a smooth, carlike ride. Add in a powerful gas-electric powertrain, and the Highlander Hybrid is green without making any compromises. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit http://www.kbb.com today.

  • Highlander is a crossover, so it's not a "small version" of Sequoia, which is truck-based.

  • @rocky733 yes 28 city/highway is good but it could be better. I'm waiting for a 35-40 SUV hybrid! Also i don't like the Hybrids grill opposed to the non-hybrid highlander grill

  • Pretty frikin' incredible that they are able to make SUV hybrids that are this fuel efficient. I want one. :)

  • Very nice vehicle.

  • my dad got this car "cause it saves gas and money"

  • the acceleration in this car is like a rocket ship's. the steering is incredibly responsive. the suspension IS sporty. i've driven a supercharged porsche 911 as well, and i'm calling THIS car sporty. IT IS OFF THE HOOK!!

  • Test drove a Honda Pilot today, but the interior leg room is 2" shorter than [all]Highlanders (inc. my presently owned '03 as well as all current hybrid models); Have only found Highlanders to offer acceptable leg room (I'm 6'2"); and that's up against Jeeps and XTerras. Gonna stick with a Highlander hybrid.

  • wut color is that?

  • @lexusES350h Well the sequoia is based off a truck, the Tundra, whereas the Highlander is based off a car, the Camry; so they do different things. The Sequoia would probably be a bit better off road, but the Highlander is better on the road. Also, the Highlander would have more car-like attributes, a smaller turning radius, softer ride, and quieter on the road, but the Sequoia would be better for towing. I prefer the highlander since it does just about everything I need it to do.

  • i have a sequoia, anybody know the differences between them? which one do u think is better?

  • inner office documents at toyota proved that toyota knew they had a deadly problem and that toyota intentionally avoided recalls to save money, now toyots says they are sorry, toyota is sorry, sorry they got caught.
