Many people strongly disapprove of the method by which the State Executive of the LNP have gifted Campbell Newman as the "Leader outside of Parliament".

Firstly, this process is undemocratic, and does not allow for those members of Parliament -- who have stood and been democratically elected by ordinary Queenslanders -- to be in control of the votes on the floor of our Parliament. Campbell Newman has embarked on a running public commentary about many things that concern many people. And he has not stood for any electorate in Queensland.

Secondly, considering that we have only one house, and not an upper house, protection of democratic processes is more important for Queensland and Queenslanders than it is for any other State in Australia.

Thirdly, this move allows one electorate (Ashgrove) to choose our Premier: from three candidates: Jeff Seeney, Campbell Newman or Anna Bligh.

Fourthly, there is significant risk of this State being controlled by the Greens -- a result which I don't not wish to contemplate, but which Bob Brown and his members could capitalise on, considering the recent result in NSW. The electorate only moved over to LNP when the LNP proved themselves a safe pair of hands. Campbell Newman's recent 'scrapping' of all policies is hardly a safe pair of hands...

It appears that LNP State Executive decisions were made based on Campbell Newman's recent polling. The State Executive for the LNP appears to have put Polling before Principle, Popularity before Policy, Patronage before Party and Procrustes before the People of Queensland.

The State Executive of the LNP have produced and supported a Messiah like unelected and unaccountable figure.

Fair dinkum.
