@BrooklynEagle they prolly finished it in 83 but yea I think it had to be before 83 bcus i remember vaguely as a kid there wasnt a "station" with the stairs goin over the tracks. But they renovated that station at least 3 times when I was growing up there

I'm assuming you're referring to the E. 105th Street station... Yeah, it's pretty much looked the same exact way for the past 20-25 years now. With the exception of the now LONG-gone grade crossing. When exactly was the "railroad" crossing thing completely eliminated? Because according to nycsubway(.)org, it says 1983. But that has to be wrong! By '83 (my year!), E. 105th St. station was likely in its beginning stages of looking the way it does today. The whole Canarsie line for that matter.

it looks a lot different today then it was jewish and itlian today it is all races there mostly haitansi used to live in mill basin that has not changed yet do you remember grabsteins deli on rockway parkway oand avenue m they had good kosher deli

It really doesn't look much different than in 1965, except for the razor wire, improved light fixtures, and a new building in front. Of course our cars were not air-conditioned and very noisy.

I miss those old R42's running on the L line (the gay-ass MTA are replacing those very quick!). R143's suck nut! :( But, anyway, Canarsie stand the fuck up!!!

Back in teh day, this was called the LL line.
And the motormen got bored and drank alot, and would take a shot at the yellow signal timers to see how close he could come to hitting the trip on a red signal.
Then, depending how much he had to drink, would pull only 4, 6, or 8 cars of a 10 car train into the last stop.
Now its all computers counting every electron going into the motors and it sucks cuz nothing exciting every happens.
