Never liked Ernie ... he was too normal

"please give a reasonably warm welcome" hahaha -- that tickled me all day!

@BritishAlienCompany The lady is the lovely voluptuous Janet Webb

Superb!

This is brilliant! I love the friendly warm atmosphere that this, like every other Morecambe and Wise piece, has! One question for an ignorant fan, who is the lady who comes down at the end of the show? x

is that ALL she says?!
-
19GirlBad- she was not and never was Arthur Lowe's wife! - He was married to Joan Cooper- look out "Reputations" for his life story

wow, utube never ceases to amaze me , i love reading the comments and each time i learn so much , i am a great fan of dads army but never knew te cast did not get along or that arthur lowe was a drinker

i'm distantly related to arthur lowe and i couldn't be more proud watching this :)
This could be the only recorded instance of Eric Morecambe allowing a guest to take centre stage, as he does here with the great Arthur Lowe. He actually leaves the screen for a while and at one point ad-libs "It's an easy day for me, this" as Lowe matches him for comic brilliance.

Well said, I agree 100%. Mr Lowe even does the about-turn like Eric! AL's physical comedy is superb, the way he kisses his hand instead of hers and is tossed around by the 'lady who comes down at the end of the show' is masterly, a pleasure to watch.
