A lot of new information is emerging about busting old muscle building myths. One of the muscle building myths frequently busted is how many reps you should do of each exercise per set. So what's the new optimal range?

Scientific experimentation and the universal agreement borne of verifiable empirical evidence marches on as I explore several different expert opinions on the quickest muscle building technique.

The answers may surprise you.

  • awesome powerpoint

  • Wow, thank you, it was clear as mud :D

  • You don't even need science to prove that last finding. It makes logical sense, you just have to get the overload and pump in your muscles and they'll grow...just think of the last rep, are you pushing it till failure and are you sweating? Its like saying muscle weighs more than fat...which is not even logically plausible if you actually think about the statement.

  • The perfect number of repetitions or rather, the perfect amount of time under load that is effective for optimal muscle growth, depends on a person neurological efficiency .

This will also vary's from muscle group to muscle group for that person.

Usually this falls between 40 seconds and 90 seconds.

The key is how efficiently that persons recruits motor units, low efficiency = greater time needed, high efficiency = less time needed.

    Debunking the pseudo debunkers.
