By the same token, you can generally do everything you do on a Mac and more with a PC, as long as you know how to take care of one. And, saving up an additional $1k for a designer Mac, when I can spend less money for a game-worthy rig that I custom-built, sounds really dodgy to a college kid like me.

Hahaha LMAO! Its a matter of quality & market placement. Mac hardware & OS have always been superior in quality, stability, intuitiveness & usability. Save up & get a $1k Mac instead of some $500-$800 PC piece of crap (open one up and see how cheap PC's are built/components). You'll get many more years out of a Mac, esp laptops that get the crap kicked out of them. I've got many versions of desktops & lapops in both PC & Mac & Mac's are far superior for usability, efficiency & value.

I do agree about the design thing is based on opinion, however my opinion is, Macs are just a great quality computer with amazing features. You may like Windows, but I like Mac.
