  • OH thank you so much for this video! I have asked people so many times if they remember the Teenage Fair, and this is the only video that has ever come up, this brings back sooooo many memories! too bad for the kids today, that they can't have things like this to enjoy like we did, Bless you for this memory!

  • Thanks for writing to me.

I used to walk a mile to the Cahuenga Pool with my James Bond novel. The only danger was the lifeguard's reproach (very mild) the day my baby oil broke poolside. It still came in glass bottles. What was sunscreen?

Someone asked me if I knew who the bands are and I said I'd like to know who they all are. I'm hoping some of the faces are still local. Would love to hear your "memories."

  • Yes. Those were "Boss" times. That was across from Wallach's Music City. I remember collecting race car stickers like STP and MOON racing products. Do you remember the smell of the food served in front of the Hollywood Ranch Market? I lived across the street from the Hollywood swimming pool on Cahuenga Blvd. I went to Vine Street School. My neighbor was Denice Crosby.

  • I was at the 1964 Teenage Fair to see the newly invented motorized skateboard, old school with clay wheels (wish we had the composite wheels bak then). Sonny and Cher were headlining and were performing as Ed and I made our way through the auditorium t the exhibit booths. I remember thinking, Wow! she is young and hot and he is old and goofy looking and their singing sounds like cats being bathed against their will. The skateboard was too expensive, Sonny and Cher became worldwide superstars.

  • Yes, i went to the Teenage Fair ('64, '65) during spring break. i don't remember any of the bands. But, i remember it was fun trying to pick up chicks. At that time, the Aquarius Theater was the called the Moulin Rouge & later became the Hullabaloo (around '66, '67) where I saw the Electric Flag. Things changed radically from '63/'64 when the Beach Boys were hot, then came "Love Ins" or "Be Ins" in Griffith Park with groups like the Peanut Butter Conspiracy performing & the Doors on the Strip.

  • Yes I was!! I saw Steppenwolf..and all the teen bands....thank you so much for this

  • The Rising Sons played indoors...'66? '67? at the Palladium. I knew I had a future when I heard them and saw their original look! Very artistic. Ry Cooder and Taj Mahal were in the group at that time. I must have been 16 or 17. We crossed the street and crashed the Aquarius Theater, and saw the Doors if my memory serves.. Don't know if it was called The Aquarius Theater then...

    PS I remember Wildman Fisher!

  • I was there at night.

Thanks for the lovely video :)

  • @johnj623 Thank gawd someone else was there when Jimi Hendrix played there. I told my kids and they said I must have been on some trip now at least they know I was not "Stoned" (that came later). My Mom wouldn't let me go, so I took off anyway. We hitched a ride from San Gabriel Valley and back home at 4:00am we got busted walking off the freeway. Does anyone remember the 3 day concert at the old race track in Upland? I remember seeing Emerson Lake and Palmer, and the paiano player levittated?

  • I'm pretty sure you got a couple pix of the Buffalo Springfield's Bruce Palmer (RIP), and Dewey Martin (RIP) with maybe Richie Furay. What year(s) were the photos taken?

  • Oh Yeah!, I remember the hollywood teenage fair Very Well, I was around 12 years old and just saw '2001: A Space Odyssey' at the Pantages theater and went over to the Palladium where they were setting up for it, One of the workers let me get in free; I cannot begin to tell you all the things I remember about it and how Cool it was to hang out there; I think the last one I went to was 1972, After that, It started going south, But, Ohhh the groooovy Memories.
