A group of Occupy Vancouver protesters who marched on the Holy Rosary Cathedral on Oct. 30, 2011 were met with church officials on the church's front steps. The march was unsanctioned by the protest's general assembly.
Am glad to see the survivors of the residential Catholic schools with this movement, speaking out. The truly sick thing is that the Church officials do not really believe in God; they believe in themselves. God is merely a useful corporate logo & means of control for them.
IF they believed in God they would share their incredible wealth with the poor. And the sex abusers & the Bishops who enabled them would be turned over to the courts for justice.

they own all the major banks, run the UN, are behind NATOs wars, the EEC was singed in Rome by Tony Blair and Jack Straw and they are responsible for the euro crisis
now they are microchipping the IDF in the name of security with verichips

@christianpatriot125 I didn't say you do not care about victims of clerical abuse - what I said was that, certainly within the scope of this conversation, you are far more concerned about the reputation of the institution. Instead of railing against outsiders who know about all the abuse and wonder why you insiders aren't in revolution over all that's been revealed, why don't you guys turf out all the perps from their positions once and for all? Isn't that what matters? Stopping the abuse?
@christianpatriot125 There are exceptions to any rule, and good, but that doesn't change the fact of the rules issued by head office and adhered to worldwide for many decades. I don't know how many times I'd have to clarify 4 U that I'm talking about specific criminal activity OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED & PRACTICED by Ur institution - that which destroys real live breathing individuals, families & communities - and NOT about ideological teachings. This isn't complicated, man.
@christianpatriot125 ...cuz that doesn't refer to sex abuse victims either. Not until your 8th do you address their side. Examples of "Church Teaching" abound: I've said repeatedly that the church teaches loudest and strongest by that which it does in practice, regardless of what any of the clergy may say to the crowds at mass; silencing victims, protecting perps ARE "the rules of the organisation they are supposed to serve." Not ind'ls acting against, but in line with official church policy.
Some priests, far too many bishops, a certain senior cardinal, at the very least allowed perpetrators to remain in their position, exposing further victims to danger.
Others put perpetrators where they couldn't offend. For example a Franciscan monk was transferred to an enclosed monastery & kept there for over 20 years. It was known at the time of his offence that the cops did not act upon such complaints. The Franciscans didn't disobey the Church, they followed it!
What do you mean, 'finally'? I addressed it in my first response!
The clergy are not my institution.
I have asked you to give an example of Church Teaching, that supports your argument, and you have failed to do so.
It is wrong to confuse with the organisation itself, the actions of those who abuse their office and operate contrary to the rules of the organisation they are supposed to serve.
@christianpatriot125 THANK YOU, finally, for addressing the destroyed innocence of children. A sin, yes, but also a crime that has repercussions here on earth for rapists not under the far-reaching protection of the papal office. We are no more "anti-catholic" than you are a personal supporter of perpetrators in collars: the problem is not "a few bad apples" tho - its official policy to protect these people and actions speak far louder than any words. Work WITH us to cleanse your institution?
