Thank you Hadley for giving us LEROUX'S Raoul !!! This is the 'real' Raoul from the original novel. The highly suspicious, extremely jealous lover who flips out when he thinks that Christine is lying to him. He knows she has been with another man (because he heard the man's voice while he was standing outside her dressing-room) and she is talking nonsense about a "ghost"? He's like WTF?!?!. This scenario is actually in the original novel....

I agree, in the 2004 movie version, Raoul annoyed me. But when I read the book and saw this version I started to like Raoul more and more.

Actually, Hadley NAILS the Raoul character. He's supposed to be aggressive, impatient and jealous (in the book anyway). He's a titled gentleman accustomed to getting his own way (i.e. arrogant) and being obeyed. This is what Raoul is supposed to be- the versions before missed the essential parts of this character. I don't blame the actors, but I really think Hadley Fraser is hands down the best Raoul I've seen. I've seen a lot!

wow u r so lucky to have the chance to get to meet both of them, so jealous!!!! and some think he played raoul too rough trying to connect LND raoul in POTO but i rather liked his character. u could see his undying love for christine yet his anger towards the situation between the phantom & christine & maybe a little jealous & yet he was still caring and trying to be supportive at the same time. he reminds me of a normal guy that would be in that situation not all naively romantic

I met Hadley Fraser and Ramin Karimloo at their concert in Peterborough and they were so nice. I told Hadley that he was the one actor that made me like Raoul.. He thanked me and told me he barely remembers playing that role! Ahaha, he was so funny. And of course he had a beer with him. Real life Grantaire.
