@attemptingtobehumble exactly what I wanted to say. My bengal cat plays hard with some toys, get's tired and simply starts panting. Dogs breathe same way after running or over-active activities. So thumbs up to you sir

Cats also do that when they're nervous. My Brother's Cat panted in the car while we driving back home to take care of him while my brother's away.

@cinnamon3462 Thanks for the information. We were all so freakin' hot. The kitty was drinking water and we put her in front of the air conditioner and I used a wash cloth with water (which she hates!). This unusual heat is gone. Thank goodness.

hey, um.... its not heathly for a cat to pant.
i work at a vet's office and it usually means that their internal organs are over heating.... not their body and should recieve medical attention..
trust me im not a PETA person its just something i was told the other day while working... we had a black cat come in that was panting and its organs were over heated from the heat and had to have heart medication as well.... and im not saying that your cat wont be okay, just for future reference :)
