Keith Whitley had the most amazing voice and it was so tragic how he died, but he was human, and humans make mistakes...God rest his soul. I so loved the country music of the mid 80/s thru the 90's,,,I really dont like to listen to what they call country today..........that is sad too.

Obviously, too many on here haven't a clue what talent Keith Whitley had, nor do you know anything about alcoholism. It knows no class, doesn't care who you are. Keith was not a low life, just rose to fame to fast and like the many that fell victim to drugs and alcohol, Elvis, John Belushie, Janice Joplin, Michael Jackson, and on and on and on, it got Keith...he died. But damn he could sing and will forever be remembered as one of the best in country music.

That is a stupid comment. This guy had the most severe kind of alcoholism. He drank shampoo and perfume to get drunk. He was a small time guy who I think wasnt cut out for the spotlight. He is the best ever

Fully did not appreciate the comment saying this idiot killed himself with booze. No sympathy. What's up with a comment like that, everyone faces trials and troubles in this lifetime. yes, you were right my friend...we did need to go fishing more often and spend more time behind those doors..how you were so right, so many times and I just knew it but couldnt say it, ..I will forever regret not taking you up on that pond fishing..but, hell...that was pond fishing...and no boat with a real capt.
