Rickett's Hornpipe & Alexander's Hornpipe

I haven't put any banjo tunes up here yet...and was asked to do so - so here are two of my favourite hornpipes. The first is Rickett's and the second is Alexander's. Where I come from, hornpipes are played slower than reels with a definite 'long short long short' rhythm to them. This is not how these seem to be played on Youtube! As with the mandolin sets I am double tracking here and backing myself on guitar. For those interested in such things both tunes are in D.

I'm learning the guitar accompaniment on my feet too! Difficult since I play the hammered dulcimer standing up! :) Nice playing, it's so weird to see you with a BANJO though. It breaks the Caledonian mystique!

Great! It's a nice sounding banjo. Not too harsh like some are.
