It is simple and with this kind of weather, they should have been able to "hook" up in 1st attempt- good for nothings!
-
How in the world could the line fall off? For God sake, doesn't it have a safety catch?
-
New crew have to be trained ..... That's why it was a training exercise..... and no one was in danger.
Most people hear don't know anything about what they are saying!

@FerryDude2009 a twin out board rib is nothing new they've been using them for more than twenty years and the bad boat handling is very bad and yes i do know how to handle a boat
-
@FerryDude2009 Thats pretty lame the rescue boat is not new to them and niether is simple boat control and knot work, this was all in very calm sea on a sunny day with a dumby. How much pressure would there be with a live (or maybe not by the time these guys got him in) victim in rough weather ....... sad very sad

coxswain fail, hard throttling like that and he will have his own man over board drama
-
Cpuldn't they do this drill when there were no passingers on board? Or when the ferry's not in service?
-
@SpiderRider3 Yea looks like a lot of fun

@awaldegrave Airlines don't practice emergency landings in actual airplanes. And passengers like watching the drills.
As a ferry fan, Ive got to say that it's not that easy attaching the rope, and the passengers aren't making it easier for them. Sure, these guys have done it many times before, but let them focus on what they need to do. Besides it's a fairly new vessel, the Coastal Celebration. Just, cut them some slack next time
Thanks!

@BlackMac525 Obviously its not new NOW, but when the video was made/posted, it was still fairly new.
You think its simple? I'd like to see you attempt to do this in front of a handful of people and see how this turns out. There's pressure to get this done ASAP to get the vessel back on time.
Typical classless, complaining average joe.
