I don't get the seven swords thing at all. Why are seven Telmarine swords so important to Aslan, when the Telmarines didn't believe in Aslan? And how did Aslan give Caspian's father a sword for that matter? That would suggest the extermination of the old Narnians occurred with Miraz, which then makes the Telmarines in Prince Caspian a little hard to believe.

I read somewhere that the Seven Swords were added to represent the Seven Virtues.

Good gosh, man... They're really degrading it to that crud!? XC I agree, man: we've SEEN this crap! Can't we see the BOOK?! T.T
lol. I agree about Ed, Caspian, and Ramandu's Daughter. XD And the Coriakin line. The Seven Swords plot...don't even get me started... XP
The plot...ugh... Man, I just... T.T It really does sound stupid... I pray it'll be good. I also think it might be a bad movie... XP

@Kieransm09 it's YOUR opinion. And just because you say it or someone else, it doesn't mean it's true. There are lots of people who agrees with me. So noone can say what is true. If you don't like the movie, so don't watch it. I love it and I will. And I didn't say that I watched the movie yet. Therefor I said we can't talk about it yet, but I BELIEVE, and don't know, that it will be good.

the fact that they put the same music from the LWW trailer on it says something about where they're trying to go with it. It borders on the epicness of that trailer when you're watching it because of the climbing music. so perhaps they're also trying to go back to that...at least with the trailer.

Most of the Narnia fans will not even CONSIDER that HP is better. I have considered that Narnia may be better but I have disproved myself by seeing which has had a great impact on me, and todays society.

Fine I believe it will be bad,a nd have YOU seen the movie yet? No. And Narnia doesn't seem real to me at all and nor does Harry Potter. I just feel that I as a person am interested in HP more than Narnia, Despite the fact I think HP is better I still like Narnia. And I would hope like I am not telling you that you must think Hp is better, that you will not say the same to me about Narnia

@Kieransm09 have you seen this movie yet? No! The point is not how they make the movies, it's just the feeling. If Harry Potter would be a better movie, it would be my favorite, but it isn't. Because Narnia doesn't seem like a movie, it seems like real. But some people only think about the logics or anything. I think movies are only for fun, and if you had it, then it is a good movie. And Narnia was no dissapointment yet. Don't know how this movie gonna be...but I believe it will be great

@bookmoviesnob Interesting. I don't think I'd go that far...as they say, you can't judge a book by it's cover, and you can't judge a movie by its trailer...although you can get a good idea of some of the things that will go on. I'm still planning on seeing it, and I'm glad I know now that there are changes, so maybe I'll enjoy it more than I would otherwise, had there been no warning...but I still wish they'd stick to the magic of the book and not add unnecessary extra plots. I share your fears.

I know an up-and-coming Christian fantasy author who isn't going to see VDT because of the story-butchering (based on the trailer) and what he calls "Caspian and Edmund lusting over Ramandu's daughter", whom he also thinks is wearing immodest clothes. (The latter I take issue with because you can't even see what's she's wearing, but he bases this on the two boys' 'lustful' action). I am still seeing it myself, but I do fear that story-butchering is taking place. *cringe*

I disagree about how you feel about the Harry Potter movies. I feel the exact opposite is true of the movies (at least the ones following the first two). They feel more character driven and less about magic than they're made out to be. Sure, they have fun with the special effects, but it's just like what you said about Star Wars. It's there and it's not much more than that. Especially when you look at the 6th movie, very little of the plot actually revolves around magic.

Maybe I felt that way because the characters in the HP movies are boring, and so I find myself focusing more on the magic.

@GPuddle I think you're exactly right about the Ooh Neat Look At All the Magic in the HP movies (though, strangely I prefer them to the books). Let's face it Star Wars stands pretty much alone in it's vision of an "immaculate reality" as Kurosawa defined it.

I wouldn't say alone. That was an aspect of Star Wars that was very influential on the genre.

Harry Potter is and always will be better than Narnia.

HP is an enjoyable read with characters I feel connected to. But not much more.
Narnia is something deeply deeply profound. It's astonishing what Lewis was able to do in so few pages. HP, on the other hand, was kind of overindulgent.
