My first Photoshop video tutorial, primarily for coloring detailing a handy trick for taking the white out of scanned artwork in order to prepare it to be colored. Suitable for print comics as well as webcomics, this trick is just handy all around. Part of a series on coloring comics. This trick works in Photoshop CS, CS2 & CS3, for earlier versions it requires a slight modification, but it can still be done!

The webcomic I am coloring in this tutorial is called Starship Moonhawk. The finished page is here: http://www.starshipmoonhawk.com/?p=100

  • oh trhis is awesome, but i im lost on 4;26 when you hit backspace on my photoshop white part doesnt desapear, what i need to do

  • Make sure you haven't missed a step, converting the Background layer to layer zero ( which I do at 3:40), because if the BG layer isn't converted, to a regular layer, then it won't erase.
