This is a video of my dog having an Epileptic seizure. I originally took this video for my vet, but decided to upload it to YouTube for educational purposes. I know when I was trying to figure out what could be causing her seizures, I would have liked to have been able to see a video of what an Epileptic seizure looked like, so that I could have a better idea of whether or not this could be something she has. My Vet has since confirmed that Epilepsy is in fact what she has. With Christy, Her seizures last for about a minute or so and only has one a few times a year. And after she's had her seizure, she goes completely back to her normal self. My Vet said that when dogs have seizures as infrequently as she does, they don't usually do anything about it, because it's not very serious. I know people have commented and said that when she's having a seizure that I shouldn't touch her and just let her be, but I've witnessed her having quite a few seizures and I feel that what I do doesn't hurt her and ,in fact, relaxes her. So, I'm just going to continue to do what I've been doing.

  • How is your dog these days?

  • @stevenscottoddballz She's good. She has seizures a couple times a year, but other than that, she's completely fine. Just starting to slow down cause of her age. :(

  • @prmgirl93 what did u give her or him anything because my dog only want to stay laying down all day and her paws and she shizers when i try to touch her:(

  • @whyslifeabitch I haven't ever given her anything. She just goes back to her normal self after every seizure. Sounds like your dog has it worse than my dog does, so I would definitely suggest taking her to the vet and getter her checked out. If money's an issue, you can try asking the vet if they'll take payments, my vet does. But definitely get her checked out, wouldn't want her to suffer anymore than she has to. Hope she feels better. :)

  • @Tremization I was taking the video at my Vets request. There isn't much I could do for her anyways, and I was helping comfort her even though I was taking a video. I was massaging her legs and talking to her to try and get her to relax. It's not like me putting down the camera would make the seizure stop. Also, it would be nice if you didn't use that kind of language on my video. Kay, thanks.

  • @PeterParkerisded Wow, how nice of you to leave such a sweet comment about me dog. Seriously, your life is that horrible that you have to insult A DOG?! I feel bad for you and even more so for your dog because it has to have an owner that cares so little for it. Next time you feel the need to leave such a rude comment for NO REASON, just walk away from your computer and remember that there are people who can be hurt by your comment.

Also, I think my dog is the epitome of cute. Just sayin'.

  • uggghhhhh my doggie has them, she use 2 get them about once a year, now they come just about every week...time 2go C tha doctor!!

  • Feel bad for the doggy! :(

  • Question : is the dogs heart beating tremendously , clinching his mouth shut tight, and all muscles locked up, and shaking ? my beagle has these issues the last one was from retaliation of my doberman , before that was from him chasing a cat outside, and before that was something he saw , I'm trying to figure out what to call what my dog has, thanks

  • @Tremization There's nothing you can do and it goes away after a few minutes and they're back to normal. My dog has the same thing. Freaking out doesn't help and just makes it worse.

  • @prmgirl93 I'm glad she's good. I've been praying for the two of you. When she does pass away, I'd like to invite you to a "Pet Loss Chat Room".
