@OZIASALLAH i think its safer for james toney to fight in the ufc than it would be for couture to fight in boxing cause in the ufc theres no way for james toney to get hurt as much as randy would in boxing. couture is not notable for his striking he is know for his wrestling he is a ground n pound guy so to put him in a boxing ring with james lights out toney would be brain damaging

I understand and agree with mostly everything you said man, the only part i dont agree with is that when you talk about mma fighters fighting boxers in a ring. You have to understand that ufc wasnt saying that they could get in a ring with 14 oz gloves and whoop some ass, james tony was the one sayin he would knock out any mutha fucka they put in front of him in the cage

@OZIASALLAH I would have to agree. When you start attacking joints and executing choke holds (things that could be lethal or crippling in a matter of seconds) rules are ultra important. In MMA if the rules weren't applied judiciously the sport would be banned. On another point I consider MMA fight officials to be better as a whole than boxing officials. Too many boxers have been killed, gone loopy or had their careers screwed because of crappy Referees and ignorant judges.

Thanks lakeshow499. I boxed for quite awhile but became a big fan of MMA before I got out of the USMC. I am glad to say that now in the USMC has adopted a self defense/unarmed assault system that draws from MMA. Years ago it was too heavily stilted towards strikes. The fact is that Boxing is just an art but MMA is the SCIENCE of how to wreck someones day. And as you know all those submissions and chokes could be LETHAL or instantly crippling in a real life combat situation.
