MPGomatic.com puts a 2010 Mazda3 s Sport Sedan to a week-long test drive. [ Full Review: http://www.mpgomatic.com/2010/05/27/2010-mazda3-sedan-review/ ] The Mazda3 is well-regarded for its handling. So how did it do with real-world MPGs when we rolled up over 500 miles?

MPG-o-Matic 2010 Mazda3 Review Summary: The 2010 Mazda3 is a blast to drive and can be more frugal at the pump than one might be lead to believe. As one of the best handling front-wheel-drive compacts on the market today, this affordably-priced sport sedan offers a brilliant alternative to a hum-drum life. Scoff at the big grinning grille and Zoom-Zoom tag line if you must. Once you drive one, you'll understand.

  • Mazda 2 review soon?

  • @zedramer Yep! Should have it posted in the next couple of weeks. :)

  • Just to let you know, the 5-speed manual transmission in the GX (base) model is almost effortless. I've been driving my mother's car and the clutch requires almost no pressure compared to my 2007 Toyota Matrix... very easy to get used to and the shifter has an exceptional feel. I haven't had a chance to dry the Mazdaspeed but I'm sure it's another story when it comes to the clutch, since I've been hearing it takes more practice to get used to it in city driving.

  • @DominicGuitarist Good stuff! I've only been in the Speed3 for fifteen minutes or so, but that clutch is a whole 'nother ballgame ...

  • LMAO @ 2:11 he looks like he's having a seizure.

  • @MattHutzell Thanks, Matt! The grille design is polarizing, no doubt about it. I want to design a line of teeth stickers: vampire, hillbilly, pearly whites ... ;)

  • @bjjxr8 I'm a teen and I was thinking of getting a 3 as my first wheels! Is it a good choice for a teenager of about 18? Do you recommend any other ride in the same price range, sir?

  • @tigeroak i have to use premium in the falcon which is $1.60+ a liter. wow you guys have fairly cheap petrol in canada. regular is about $1.40 per liter, luckly i work close to home and a lot of family live near buy so a tank does us for the week, including the odd trip in to the city to watch the footy or dinner. canada looks like a awsome place. its on my bucket list lol

  • @bjjxr8 Oh,no wonder you are not crazy about the 3. Four hundred hp is a completely different story. I'm used to driving cars with 100 hp and then I got the 3. How much is the gas {petrol} down there,in Canada we pay 1.24 a liter. I could not afford a big engine, wish I could. Your Falcon sounds awesome!

  • @tigeroak hi mate, i just bought the pride of Australia, a ford falcon f6e turbo, which suits me and my growing family better. as for road noise sorry the mazda was terrible. dont get me wrong madza do build a good reliable car but there is better options for the money out there. mind you the falcon has over 400hp which made the mazda feel a little...... boring lol

  • @bjjxr8 I took my 77 year old dad for a long ride at highway speeds and he thought it was smooth as silk. Mazdas have one of the highest resale values of all the automakers, what do you drive now

  • i just sold 2010 mazda 3, "THANK GOD" what a pile of crap it was. Great steering is the only good thing i will say for it. Horrible ride. lots of road noise, engine noisy not much punch either, not enough room in the back for my kids, and shit resale value. i will never buy a mazda ever again!!!!!

  • Just bought a Mazda3 just like that except in silver with the 6-speed manual and I love it to death. I used to hate the smile it has on it's grille but I didn't even care because it was so fun to drive. 2 Weeks after buying it I've learned to love the smile. It makes so much sense because you'll do nothing but smile driving one of these. Glad I made my purchase.

  • @hypnotistchicken I would test drive them both first like I did. I picked the Mazda3. But you might like the Accord better. Who knows. You can't lose either way.
