i think it would sound better if the quality is better. that's why i didn't watch it all the way through, it was bugging me. Michael Burgess acutsic version is pretty good also.

@singsongfly Yes I must admit the "sound quality" SUCKS!!! It was a 'VHS recording re-recorded to digital-camera, then to 'YouTube. Once I invest in a quality soundcard, I willl re-submit video and the best I can do (at that point) will to be to upload best the video that I have. But you must admit; were it not for the upload that I submitted, you could not have heard/seen the artist/performance/recording? The materials only can be shared because I valued it at the time it was broadcast? FYI

Im not one for censoring, but for a moment gave it a thought, and then I realized what you were saying and that you were replying to a rather strange comment left by that other guy. Then I understood what you were saying (though I wouldnt have worded it quite that way)

Reply to eruera52: (continued) Im actually amazed at the negative (thankfully few) comments left (whether referring to this video or others) but particularly this one. It never dawned on me that people would have a problem or find fault with this one. To each his or her own, we dont all hear or appreciate the same things, the same music, the same rhymes.

I personally like Gary's Valjean better than any of the others.

I worked with Gary in Miz when I was a little girl (1990, I think) and to me, he will always be the only Valjean. He is phenomenal.

Northern exposure did use a poor choice of words calling redsilver mentally challenged. The correct word is STUPID. I have heard many great singers sing live...I have never heard anyone with the vocal range, power, key, phrasing, volume and simple sound quality as Gary. He is in his sixties now and his voice has lost a little luster. But just check out his versions of Amazing Grace on here from the 90's. I have had the privledge of seeing Gary live about15 times. Simply incredible.

Gary's Valjean is my favorite by far. I think it's astounding. I always listen to the version with him singing, not the broadway or london recordings which i also own

Forget the sound quality. Morris can sing. I first heard him sing this on the Johnny Carson Show way back when. He came out w/his guitar, sat on a stool and just sang his heart out. I was in tears when he finished & evidently the tv audience was too. There was dead silence for seconds after he finished. I mean total silence. Then the place errupted. Carson said he'd never seen anything like it in all of his years. What a performance and what a singer!!!!
