Marcie wanted a retro chopper with as many 70s vintage parts as possible, so after months of attending swap meets and the help of some good friends helping her source parts, she gave us a call... she is finishing the bike on her own, but needed help with proper fitment, welding, and assembly tips. I think she is on her way to an awesome vintage "retro" chop.

Im all for 1936 and up to 1984, I really feel like harley died at the end of that year.

what are the best years of old harleys to rebuild? availablilty of parts, worthwhile to rebuild etc.

All are OK, but are underpowered... the Shovelhead was made during 55mph speed limits and gas crunch era, but still are good engines to rebuild, in fact rebuilt engines are usually much better than the factory one due to tighter tolerances on modern equipment. To answer your question, I like 1978 and up.
