  • CACTUS WORLD NEWS have reunited and are special guests of SIMPLE MINDS @ INEC - Gleneagle Hotel, Co. Kerry on Sat 30 July. Sadly original CWN singer Eoin McEvoy will not be taking part in the reunion, due to other commitments. The new singer is ironically also called Eoin and he ROCKS!

    Tickets are available @ ticketmaster.co.uk

  • Is it my imagination, or can I hear some Peter Murphy-esque tones ( Bauhaus ) in the vocals? What a great band CWNews was! Their record company must have been amazingly incompetent not to have got them where they deserved.

  • @stuksy4321Forgive me for not replying to your post sooner;poor blackberry coverage&this notebook kept, ahem, being borrowed for Farmville.Cassette days indeed-and dave fanning at night-what a thrill that was for me-remember..? Oops, maybe you're not Irish, or that old!. I'm still a huge music fan: Eels,Elbow- even Adele. Brilliant! and still great DJs: Paul McLoone, Michelle, Dan Hegarty &co.Oh, have you listened to 'Shortwave Set'?...'Foxjaw bounty Hunters'. Keep the faith

  • @hayzo7 I got the album (cassette) way back when in 85 or 86. I bought blindly, I liked the cover art and the name of the songs and it is still one of my favorite albums of all time and my cassette still works! My then girlfriend (now wife) and I really loved that album!

  • Just downloaded this album plus a few bonus tracks from i-tunes.

  • COOL!!

  • This was the first song I heard off the album when it came out. These guys made a good push. Think I remember they made it onto MTV, which is much further than most.

  • the album is a stone cold classic!! many happy memories

  • WOW. LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • oh my god, i i finally bit my lip and re-visited them. i remember them from gigs in the top floor of the savoy in limerick, circa 85-87; i think wayne sheehy was from co. limerick - ballingarry? i think they got tangled in that 'city of a thousand bands- the next U2 vibe' and sort of lost their way before finding a more original sound, maybe... they were still great, and now that i hear it again; i thought i might feel worse because of associated memories from that time.
