@braleven: the Vietnam War was a civil war between North and South Vietnam. America jumped in the middle of the fight to try to defend South Vietnam from the communist North Vietnam. Unfortunately, we didn't know what tactics the NV Army used, or that SV would actively resist our "help". We got hit from both sides of a war that wasn't even our business.
