Sara says she's glad everyone was born, Tegan does a little jam, Sara says that the "Chatty Kathy's" in the audience can talk through the music part but not her talking part. They had a common law marriage and had to declare it so that Emy could live in Canada. Emy's from New York and they had to declare marriage so that they could get her through immigration. They never had a formal ceremony, but for all intents and purposes, they were "married"

@InterviewsWithDomo No, they were never married, but like amazingpony said, they were together for a long time. It was a bit like a common-law marriage. Also, nightwatch is about Tegan and Sara's parents' divorce, not Emy's and Sara's.

@TheJokerNr1 i wouldn't call it much of a hint....but i can see where this uploader was coming from. @1:44 she says "i've been thing about why i've been talking so much lately...i'm in like a new social relationship situation, and so i don't have the same amount of communication with one person..." i suppose this can be interpreted as, "i'm in a new thing with someone, i don't have the amount of communication like i did before with one person, so its awkward and i'm talking alot now to others."

@InterviewsWithDomo uh no. when she said that "my wife" thingy in the Con movie, it was clearly jokingly. they were "married" hence quotes...not actually married. it wasn't legal yet. but they were close enough as to use that noun freely. once you're with someone that long, you'll understand.

I wish that Sara and Emy were still basically married :) Sara did seem really happy with her :) but dosnt she have another gf now? Like they were seen together at like a gay pride thing and Sara let her borrow her Jean jacket which reminds me of a story she once told haha! But who knows! We will know soon enough! :)

yes sara and emy were married they were kinda talking about her in a vid and sara wispered my wife andtegan said thats why we took her as our wife and nightwatch on sainthood was about her and emy getting a divorce
