  • I don't believe this is a King Biscuit recording. KB was known for their SUPERB sound quality and attention to detail. While this is no 'jambox' recording from the 25th row, it certainly does not measure up to their standards. I can hear the tambourine louder than the drums in the the couple of minutes!

  • @MAXVelo1,

It was broadcast by the KBFH in stereo... and recorded by someone on a 70's tape deck, traded for years which degrades the copies, then digitized in a low 192kps bitrate file for download. I've eq'd it and brought it up to 320kps, but until King Biscuit does an offical release that would sound awesome (and there are no plans for that), this is it...

  • @clayopalstar If this originally aired on KBFH, you can probably find it right now on Wolfgang's Vault. With all the archive stuff Tommy's brother was responsible for releasing, I'd be curious to know why this wasn't considered as part of that.

Speaking of such, I did once find a CD compiled from 2 shows on this tour. The CD ends with a six-minute version of this song, as it cuts off right in the middle of the most brilliant Jimmy Haslip bass solo (yes, bummer!).

  • @RadioKAOS99709,

I go by there, as well as d&p's bootleg tunz world, rock rare collection fetish, T.U.B.E., QualityBootz and many others... this is the best quality file I could find of "Post Toastee" live.

I think KBFH owns it's broadcasts and sometimes releases them, but not all of them. Maybe that's why there isn't a release of this show on the Tommy Bolin Archive.

A professionaly recorded and mixed version of the 1976 KBFH show would be an amazing sonic improvement over this bootleg!

  • @clayopalstar This was released by the bolin archives under the title Live at Northern Lights 1976. I have it.

  • @gatortailor,

Is the sound quality and mixing better than the bootleg?

  • @clayopalstar No, it sounds exactly the same as this.

  • @SHELLHEAD1961 Lignocaine , the stuff dentists used to use for anastheasia. It was taken from Vets and dentists and used to cut and augement real coke ..

  • Sorry about the few typos, that was alot of typing for me. I hope this sheds light if there was any miss-understandings with his death.

  • ingestion of alcohol, cocaine, lidocaine, and morphine. Bolin's accidental death followed those of two of Deep Purple's road crew the previous tour.

  • few long enough to utter a few words, by 7 am monseglio was unable to find ahy sign of his pulse. It was a unfortunate but increasingly scenario: rocker shootsjunk, rocker passes out, rocker comes to, rocker dies. Had an ambulace been called earlier, Tommy Bolin may well have survived; the likelihood is , though, that there were one or two in attendance who wanted to keep the authorities at bay. In the event, a Dade County coroner stated that the musician's death was caused by a MASSIVE
