How was what I said "spam?" I do think stop motion works well for things bigger than life, and the advancement of CGI often does not have the "character" of stop motion. Stop motion is an art form that has faded away unnecessarily. A lot of CG does not look physically present. Stop motion involves real materials and lighting, and I think that when used well can be up to par with CGi. CG isn't bad, just overused a lot of the time.

@jwhaler82 Well of course he is, the original Kong inspired him to go into stop motion. the problem with the Clash remake is they changed the story of the original film too friggen much. I mean Jesus Io instead of Andromeda? What ever those Jin things are that look like rejects from Babelon Five. The Medusa scene that seemed more fitting for a God of War video game.

Jackson's King Kong was still good and better than the Titans Remake

Such an awesome guy. I bet he's a fanboy like the rest of us.

Stopmotion most certainly does add to the "nightmare quality."

Nothing wrong with remakes, as long as the filmmakers do something interesting and new and don't just rehash the original film. That's why the remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD rocked and the remake of PSYCHO sucked.

This is why they shouldn't have remade A Nightmare on Elm Street. Wes Craven thought the exact same thing.
King Kong was basically a fan film by modern Kong fans. Clash of the Titans was just a pointless cash-grab. It's obvious they didn't care about the original at all. If you make a film on a book or another film, make sure you're a fan, and you understand and appreciate the original work. Otherwise, ti's just a waste of time and money, such as the Clash of the Titans remake.
