@ihatemockingbirds Head to the West 4th Street or 7th Avenue/53rd stations and you're guaranteed to see a rat. The NYC subway is the most disgusting subway system in the world (and this is coming from a NYC resident).

@leonardwilson85 that's an exaggeration. I've been the NYC twice recently, used public transport and did not see any rats. in fact, its pretty clean down there. nothing like what the movies lead you to believe.

@leonardwilson85 because they dont have enough space... the russian subway was originally built as a giant nuclear bunker to not only hold much of the civilian population, but an entire army...
a subway big enough for millions of people to hide in is enough space for a lot more rats than there are in NY

At least in Moscow the rats aren't in public sight. In the New York subway rats literally run on the platform and benches.
