@TeahupooChan A captain is a support class, excelling most in group situations, particularly with their buffs. He is a jack of all trades, so he can fulfill many rolls, but do none of them as well as the primary class for that roll would. A champion is a melee DPS class with some AOE thrown in. A guardian fulfills the tank roll in the "holy trinity" setup (tank, healing, dps).

Is a captain good for solo level up?
Sirumakato 1 year ago
@Sirumakato It's not bad. Because a captain's DPS isn't as strong as a hunter or champion, he will take longer to kill mobs, and thus level a bit more slowly than those two classes. But he's not as slow as a Minstrel. The nice thing about a captain is that he has a few "oh crap!" skills that can get him out of trouble, especially at the later levels. I found soloing with my cappy quite enjoyable.

Ah I see.
Though I seen people using two hander weapons and some dual wield.
Which is your prefer choice?
Sirumakato 1 year ago
@Sirumakato Two-handed. Captains can have some of the highest crit damage in the game, so anything to accentuate that is good. The higher peak damage of two-handers is perfect for this. But it does mean you attack slower, and a captain already isn't the best dps-er. Halberds (the best peak damage in the game) are the slowest, so it's a trade off.

Ok and by the way are you playing the free version of LOTRO?
Sirumakato 1 year ago
@Sirumakato No. I'm a premium player. And this video was taken before LOTRO went FTP.
