  • I thought this was great except the rude people eating whil GM Presas was teaching. It's like they were wasting their time.

  • @stickpiethere They actually weren't. That was an editing trick. I had to cover up a camera move so I inserted a cutaway shot. Everyone was stunned watching the demo. He was just stopping by and wasn't supposed to perform. If I remember correctly, the demo subjects weren't even his students.

  • Ang PROBLEMA,nasasalo mo yung suntok kasi INEEXPECT mo na iyun.PERO sa totoong LABAN--MABILIS.Ngayon ang tanong-magagamit mo ba iyung mga sinasabi mo?

  • Can anyone translate please? All I understood was "The Problem , tangible your den sock greed INEEXPECT your na iyun. PERO toward real HOSTILE MABILIS.Ngayon the interrogation usable your ba iyung mga intentional your?" I think I was just insulted but I am not sure

  • He said:

The PROBLEM is that you were able to work around your opponent's strikes/punches because you expected them. But in a REAL FIGHT, it's FAST(er). The questions is, can you still use what you say?

  • Thanks!

  • this guy is a BOSS. Period.

    5/5 escrima demo

  • makes sense since Ernesto Presas studied multiple martial arts (including jujutsu) in order to expand the capabilities of his base FMA. I mean, c'mon, everybody is human: we all have two arms and two legs. We all can move the same; you're going to see overlaps amongst martial arts.

  • @tucsonpersonified No, he is the brother of Remy.

  • Even a God Dam BallPen, Pinoys can disarm, lock, block, drop, pop and break you down. Its good to know that Manny Pacquaio was also seeing this type of training going on in Philippines as he was training to fight, boxers and escrimadors all over the place incuding kali, arnis artists as well. Great video !

  • Is he the son of Remy? I use to train with Remy in Flint, Mi.

  • @ajatkinson2004 They usually start with sticks to learn the movements and applications, then go to knives, then open hands, then steel weapons like swords.

  • @ajatkinson2004

Ballpoint pen seems pretty practical to me. Open your eyes and look at the applications, not the sticks. All martial arts become more practical that way. If you look close, you'll realize he didn't even need to use the pen. He could've used his hands, or (like I'd do) his shoe. Whatever you got available to you, right? I recommend doing research. Most people on youtube won't be able to help you and the majority of the ones that will will feed you a line of BS.

  • with someone who had a hood or was wearing glasses. Its a great martial art that is comparable to the russian systema. Its very varied, its a great workout. One of the best martial art out there hands down.

  • @ajatkinson2004 Yes. Arnis classes range from traditional arnis to a modernized version of the art hence the name Modern Arnis. Arnis teaches you to fight with 2 sticks, 1(which can be replaced by maybe a journal), a tonfa, machete, sabre, a doulo which is a substition weapon(that can be replaced by keys, a pen), telescopic baton. You also learn to fight hand to hand which goes from boxing techniques and beyond. Theres an element of street fighting as well. Recently we were told how to interact

  • those nikes look fresh. what nikes are those???

  • Is escrima practical in street defense though? Do they teach defense without weapons?

  • His brother Remy had done a whole slew of seminars with Wally Jay and i can see his influence on all the Presas brothers styles.
