@HeinrichKonig I agree that seems absurd that the rape receives so much attention when the murder sequences are so perverse. I guess it was because that back then spousal rape was such a hushed up subject and still is today really, especially in mainstream media. You often see a woman get a beating from her husband in mainstream media, but getting raped, not exactly common.

But then again, the American censors always freak out way more about sex than about violence, no matter the context.

@Sindizwe No need to treat me like a retard, I do realise it was explicit for the time, it's just when later I see a guy force-feeding his wife human entrails the rape is rendered almost meaningless. Not that it isn't already meaningless since it doesn't affect her character or the story in any way and it was only put in for shock value, which in itself robs it of any real impact.
