I was sitting in my guitar room one evening just looking around. It's a cozy little room that I get so much enjoyment from. It's a place where I get to fullfill my creative and artistic needs.
Well, the scene around me got my imagination running and this little story popped out. The video just seemed like a good way to give it some life.
While the story is a product of my imagination, the journel is real.
The Songsmith -- Christian Carnucci
Intro:
Verse 1:
Old time guitars,
hung from the walls
A journal lies open at an unfinished song.
Verse 2:
Lines on a page,
weathered from age.
Handwritten words now, beginning to fade.
Pre-chorus 1:
I thumb through the verses,
penned through the years.
Some of the pages stained by tears.
Verse 3:
But I read ever line,
and I lose track of time,
as the words of the songsmith
dance through my mind.
Chorus:
Dreams he wove,
in the songs he sung.
A tapestry is what he spun.
The scenes described,
they came alive,
as he shared his life with everyone.
Intro:
Verse 4:
He sang about love,
fortune and life.
How they all slip away like,
a thief in the night.
Verse 5:
He sang about pain,
freedom and fame.
How every man's loss is,
another man's gain.
Pre-chorus 2:
The songs spoke of wisdom,
gained through the years.
of the trials and virtues of facing fears.
Verse 6:
He sang about waste,
redemption and grace.
How the wisest of all know,
the value of faith.
Repeat Chorus:
Intro:
Verse 7:
The stories went on,
as song after song,
he told of his life with his wife and his son.
Verse 8:
And through out the years,
one thing was clear,
family was most what the songsmith held dear.
Pre-chorus 3:
The evening grew colder,
and the shadows grew long,
when I found myself back at the unfinished song.
Verse 9:
So I picked up a pen,
and I read it again,
then I finished the song that,
my father began.
Repeat Chorus:
Outro:
