If this was my son, I would probably just completely weep. What a beautiful display of budding talent. Played quite tightly, by the way--and pitches are spot-on. Making new arrangements of compositions in the rock idiom is a good chance to get your feet wet with arranging. Also, this song is not tonally obvious--making it a really good choice for listening and interpreting.
