Kali's child Ramprasad Sen ( Shyama Sangeet )

Ramprasad Sen was the key figure of medieval bengali devotional literature who enriched it through his devotional songs to goddess Kali . He also helped to bring about a change in the way people perceive Kali -- from ruthless devi to compassionate mother .
His songs has its own distinct style and fervour (ramprasadi style) which was resulted out of an amalgamation of folk , kirtan and classical tunes . His way of calling to his mother , later developed into a distinct genre of songs by the name of shyama-sangeet .
