I would like to read that. I dont assert that she is dangerous or unrehabilitated. But prison is not just about protecting the public and rehabilitation. It's also about showing that society sets standards and intends to maintain them. I can't see any of them ever getting paroled.

I doubt they will either -partly because their being women weighs so heavily against them. Our society is far more shocked, & consequently punishes much more severely, female criminality; most especially women who kill, because it contradicts the image of women as life-givers & nurturers.

If they had all been teenage boys society would likely have accepted the Manson mind-control mitigation & paroled them some time ago. As it is I doubt they will be paroled until they are old & forgotten women

I have wondered sometimes if Manson was part of the CIA MKULTRA program researching mind control, because he succeeded in producing genuine Manchurian candidates. He took a bunch of middle class girls who would have been repelled by the idea of killing before meeting him & turned them into robotic killers programmed to do his will.

Yep, that is true. At the same time one of the main reasons the girls have not been paroled is precisely that: because they are women. Society finds the idea of female criminality, especially women who kill, far more shocking than male crime.

If the killers had all been teenage boys it is likely, especially with Manson's delight in acting out a depraved & evil character whenever he's on camera, that they would have been paroled by now.

Leslie van Houten may get parole when she's an old woman.

If Sharon Tate was due to give birth in 10 days, wouldn't that make her 9 months pregnant? Everywhere its says she was 81/2 months pregnant.That would mean she would be due in Sept, not on August 18, which was her due date.Don't understand why everywhere its written that she was 81/2 months pregnant, when she wasn't.Just bugs me, don't know why, but it just does.
