NOT ALL INMATES WERE INVOLVED. MY BROTHER WAS IN THE PRISON AT THE TIME AND WITH GOD AS HIS WITNESS HE DIDNT DO ANYTHING. BUT BECAUSE OF TWO GUARDS WHO DID NOT DO THEIR JOB RIGHT THEY WROTE ALOT OF BOGUS WRITE UPS SAYING THAT HUNDREDS OF INMATES WERE DOING THE SAME STUFF AT THE SAME TIME IN DIFFERENT PLACES. HOW STUPID CAN PEOPLE BE AND NOT READ BETWEEN THE LINES. BUT SINCE PPL DIDNT USE COMMON SENSE AND SEE THE LIES MY BROTHER AND HUNDREDS OF OTHERS LIVES HAVE BEEN RUINED.

@Malakayah No dorm was secure. We had these cheap thin metal doors at all dorm entrances and exits. The doors also had nothing more than deadbolts that you would find on your front door. Many of the doors were either kicked out or the inmates used fire extinguishers as battering rams. I found one deadbolt on Dorm 1 sheared in half and the entire deadbolt assembly torn out of the door and lying 15 feet from Dorm 6's entrance.

this, sadly, is what is needed to make better conditions for guards and inmates. people dont care unless this sort of things happen i worked in corrections for 10 years and im here to tell you its run like its 1970..

i did 3 years at northpoint from 98-01. Its hard to imagine it going up in flames like that...everything is fucking brick and concrete...well, and metal. There is six dorms, each dorm has 4 wings, each wing houses 40 inmates, with a smaller 8 man room. Its dormitory style...no cells. which means its all bunk beds. NO PRIVACY at all. When you arrive at northpoint you have to sign a waiver saying you wont sue, because the place is FILLED with asbestos. They call it the "point of no return."

Inmates at the Boyle County prison had been on lockdown — they had no access to the prison yard — since Aug. 18. The lockdown was ordered after 10 to 15 Mexicans inmates assaulted a black inmate and a white inmate, Brislin said.

After setting fire to dorm 6 canteen kitchen they knocked loudly on the secured doors of d-5 trying to get in D-5 is an honor-d around 7p the officer on duty stated "I'm opening all wings for all to evacuate cause you would be more safe outside instead of in here" he never had the authority or a command from his superiors. There was NO need for inmates that had not participated in the riot to be kicked out of a secures dorm into harms way.

8-21-09 approximately 6:30p a riot began in dorm 6 where inmates set a fire among other devastating things in retalation for the warden putting into effect control movement because of a 'racial' riot 8-18-09 That was the administration reason the root of the problem was the exorbitant canteen prices and horrible quality of kitchen food both own by Aramark;
