This is the video to Talking Cat Blues without the plot, just Ed singing his song. If you would like to see the whole Ed Saga, check out my other videos. This was shot in 1987, near the San Francisco Ferry Terminal. Across the way, you can see the same fountain that Bono sprayed "Stop the Traffic" on in "Rattle and Hum."

  • I was introduced to Poolside Phone several years back. I just found the 2 studio albums on Rhapsody. Where's the rest of Ed's shit? The bootlegs and whatnot? Hook up an Irish fan of true folk.

  • I don't know about bootlegs, but the three studio albums are "Ed Haynes Sings Ed Haynes" (collector's item, very rare, 1 song - "I Want to Kill Everybody" - is available on itunes), "Snacking With A Vengeance" and "Poolside Phone" (both available on itunes and CDBaby). In addition, "Rude," from the comp album Acoustic Music Project benefitting Project Angel Food, is also on itunes and quite a wonderful tune.

  • ggreg, you know ed?

  • He is one of my bestest friends.

  • PS I'm the bearded guy clapping at the end. Plus, I directed the video. It's crude, I know, but we didn't have much....

  • If you can get me a copy, I'll capture it and put it up.

  • Ed is the reason I switched to Rolling Rock - it's a lager. It goes down and it stays down.

  • omg! i remember this guy from the 80's! i wonder what he's up to

  • I remember playing the crap out of this song (it was on one of the CMJ compilations) and we'd get calls about how cruel he was to his cat, but everyone missed the last stanza... and we would laugh.

  • What the heck ever happened to Ed Haynes. I sure wish I knew where my cassette tape of Ed Haynes sings Ed Haynes is.
