What he wrote was the understanding he was given and it is still to this day 100% correct, there was no change of understanding, it is as it always was.
He cannot be compared to Ellen White, who claimed to understand visions and boldly proclaimed them, only to have them mean differently today. People are forgetting that the book of Revelation was the final revelation to mankind. Short of understanding the bible better, there is no new light, no new revelations.

Though out the centuries since the dawn of time, God has slowly revealed his plan to man kind over the years, with the final revelation being through his son Jesus Christ. That is not the same though as claiming that your message is from God, that you know the message, and then it turning out to be wrong.
Daniel didn't even dare claim that he understood the message, instead, it ate away at him, and made him sick for lack of understanding.

@loibri "The point you have raised is a valid one but it is invalid when applied to the teaching of the 144,000 because it was developed by EGW under 'inspiration"
How strange of you to say that when the 144,000 are pointedly DEFINED in Rev. 7, and Rev. 14:1-5.

@loibri "Does God contradict Himself over time?:
No, and He does not reveal EVERYTHING to His servants all at once either, but allows them to proceed as they are able to digest His messages. Look how long it took for DANIEL to learn about His prophecies; MANY DECADES! Why won't you disavow HIM like you do EGW?
I seriously doubt that you can point to not believing in the triune Godhead as one of the "pin[s] of the foundation that the pioneers built", with proper documentation .

@loibri "you do stumble before you run but God doesn't stumble along the way, does He?"
GOD doesn't stumble, but (WO)MAN does! You allege that Ellen White had to have ALL of the right answers herself, rather than being allowed the privilege to grow in Christ, and proceed "from glory to glory" as SHE was provided more light over time?
ABRAM/ABRAHAM lied twice about his wife, ELIJAH ran into the wilderness to preserve his life, MOSES murdered an Egyptian, DAVID was adulterous, but God used THEM!

@loibri "he did not assume the carnal mind with its enmity against God and its helpless propensity to sin which defines helpless fallen human nature", which we are ADVISED to put aside in favor of accepting HIS nature via His Spirit. Simply because we are human does NOT imply that we MUST ALWAYS suffer from having "the helpless propensity to sin". What do YOU think His offer of coming to live in us has to offer if NOT the power to overcome sin's temptations?

@loibri "Only when we are born again can we follow the promptings of the Spirit"
Is this not what I've already pointed out in my post by saying "We can ALSO have a sanctified mind AND OVERCOME, by His VERY SAME Power bestowed upon US by His Holy Spirit!" ???
According to Jesus, we must be born again, and Paul states that the Holy Spirit is "given to them that obey" God (Acts 5:32), such obedience being manifested as THE RESULT of their accepting His salvation offer to them..

@jkw733 Friend, you are missing my point! Christ was born 'born again' if you like. He was born of the Spirit. We are not born of the Spirit. Big difference! We inherit a sinful nature. We are born spiritually dead. Scripture says that we have a carnal mind that is at enmity with God (Romans 8:7). Only when we are born again can we follow the promptings of the Spirit.
I knew it wouldnt bother you, just thought it might make you laff at his pathetic attempts against the truth. :D

In saying "triune Godhead", I am naturally referring to a "three-part God" comprised of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; three separate Persons, one God.
