i need exactly something like this... could you suggest a tutorial??? ive googled it half a dozen times but cant seem to find anything... i was going to use the fumefx plugin for this but it crashes every time i run it
Realflow is a stand alone program for simulating things such as liquid. You can import / export scenes from 3DS Max into realflow, or vise versa. So for this I had the glass in 3dsmax, exported it to realflow, simulated the liquid (which also built a 3D mesh of the liquid) then exported it back into 3dsmax, and applied my materials and stuff and rendered :)
Very nice, although I don't know if it was the compression on Youtube or your renderer, there's a teeny weeny bit of frame image loss around the edge of the stream.

I made this using realflow.. if you need realflow tutorials try looking at the ones on digital tutor.

i see what you mean, I think its youtube, my original video didnt do that.
