Mario was born in a small village in South Sudan. He was a refugee of the civil war and was separated from his parents at the age of six. He grew up in a refugee camp in Kenya and moved to America six years ago. He believes he is destined to do something greater than himself and that he came to this country for a reason. He wants to help his community and he lives everyday in America remembering where he came from. Watch this short multimedia project I did for my photojournalism class and hear his story.

  • Thanks for the advice! It was my first simple multi-media project, but I hope to do some more in the future :)

  • I think this is a great story! But for video interviews it helps to be close. Shoot from the chest up (Shoulders work great to but don't just do a head). Also find a solid color wall and shoot there, the library is to busy and you lose the subject in all the clutter. Still a wonderful story, I'm just trying to help! Hope you got a good grade!
