  • John Walters is a fucking liar and an idiot.

"The war on drugs is working!"

Really asshole? I live in the most dangerous city in the US, and I cry shenanigans.

    Decriminalize and Regulate now.

  • John Walters is so obsessed with marijuana that he has completely ignored the methamphetamine epidemic. He has ignored the meth problem so much that he actually mispronounced it calling it methetamine.

  • Let's not forget people we have highly advanced, ancient systems in all of our bodies to receive effect from these plants. So if activating a particular part of my brain with a certain substance is against the law then that law is against humanbiology and when you deprive someone a substance their body desire, you bet your ass people are going to die and rebel everyday. Not because they want to but because the government forces them too.

  • What they need to do is get these drug czars and presidents and put them on the front line of these wars and let bullets whiz by their heads or lose a limb in battle then see how quick they change their minds.

  • portugal decriminalized drugs.... what happened? drug use went down

  • @SlckJwdBtnk Where I live, the primary source of violent crime is directly related to the fact that drugs are illegal.

  • The US is the world's largest consumer of illicit drugs AND has the world's largest prison population. The vast majority of all of the problems prohibitionists complain about are products of their own work. See: Alcohol prohibition in the US.

  • @thefakeyeti That is because they want a war that never ends. War that never ends is more profitable than drugs.

  • John Walters is an idiot were does he get his numbers. While I was in high school I didn't know 1 person that didn't do or try drugs so obviously the ones that say they didn't are not being truthful for fear of how they will be perceived. Another thing thats obvious is the people that pass drug tests for work just stop doing the drug to get it out of their system long enough for the test JUST LIKE PEOPLE ON PROBATION.... Their numbers are incorrect.. What is wrong with this government, stupid..

  • legalized drugs does not mean condoning drug use. Just because a drug is legal does not mean it will be sold at every gas station, corner store, and advertised along free ways, magazines, TV like Alcohol and Tobacco. That is a seperate issue of advertising drugs.

  • So John Walter's argument is that the police state is the cause of the decline in drug use. Correlation doesn't equal causation. Decline in drug use is due to education/information, not the police state shoving a gun in your face.

  • Correlation doesn't equal causation. If drug use is down Walter's argument is that a police state shoving a gun in your face is the cause for the decline in drug use. In reality, if drug use is down it's due to information/education, not the police state.
